Last weekend my son and I attended a Valentine's Brunch hosted by Cool Mom Picks & USPS.

During the event, we enjoyed a family fun day of eating, crafting and making Valentine's cards to send to love one using the new USPS Sealed with Love stamps.

After explaining to my son we were going to make Valentine's cards for friends, we sat down and got right to work. Or I should say my son did. He took his card making seriously and carefully picked items available on the table. There was lots for him to choose from including colored pencils, gemstones, fun goggle eyes, stickers and stamps. We found a stamp with a monkey surrounded by hearts and my son stamped his heart away on his card.

After he finished his card, he spent time at the photo booth with Liz and Kristen, the Cool Moms Picks ladies. I think they were wowed with his "heart" eyes and cupid face charm. LOL

After all that activity, my son decided to sit down and enjoy some of the food and snacks available. I tried talking him into making more cards for his friends. The other families at the event were really being crafty but he was to busy enjoying the treats. I don't blame him. I had a few myself.

After all the card making and crafting finished, it was time to send off the Valentine's cards using the new USPS Sealed with Love stamps. Since we were going to see Grandma later that day we took our card with us. The other families at the event were able to put their cards into a special mail box and have them mailed with the USPS Sealed with Love stamps. I thought that was a nice touch.

Here's more information about The USPS Sealed with Love stamps

Depicting an envelope fastened with an elegant wax seal, the Sealed with Love Forever Stamp encourages Americans to scribe their own love letters — a romantic gesture that never goes out of style. The Sealed with Love stamp is being issued as a Forever® stamp. Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce rate.

The seal’s design, in shades of red, is a small heart enclosed inside a larger heart, both surrounded by a filigree circle. The stamp Graphic designer Louise Fili of New York City worked with art director Derry Noyes of Washington, DC, on this stamp. Jessica Hische was the illustrator.

Customers may view the Sealed with Love Forever Stamp, as well as many of next year’s other stamps at www.facebook.com/USPSStamps, on Twitter @USPSstamps or on the website Beyond the Perf at www.beyondtheperf.com/2013-preview. Beyond the Perf is the Postal Service’s online site for information on upcoming stamp subjects, first-day-of-issue events and other philatelic news.

On a side but related note, for families like mine who are also celebrating the Asian Lunar New Year, I blogged about the also newly released USPS 2013 Year of the Snake stamp.

Spending time with other families making cards to send to our loved ones, was a great way to spend the weekend. Thank you Cool Mom Picks and USPS for such a fun day and activity.

Note: I was invited as media and received a gift bag after this event. No other compensation was received. Any personal views expressed are always 100% my own.
